Lent is a time of preparation for the celebration of Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday (February 18). It is a season of simple living. As the entire Church prepares for the great celebration of Christ’s Paschal Mystery in the Easter Triduum, Catholics make special efforts to pray, do penance, and do good works. Every day of the forty-day Lenten season is an opportunity to live simply and prepare for Easter.

Lenten Opportunities in our Parishes

Stations of the Cross: This traditional Catholic Lenten devotion invites us spiritually to accompany Jesus in his last days on his faithful way to the cross. Stations of the Cross will be prayed every Friday of Lent at 4:00 p.m. at St. Linus Church. On Good Friday, we will pray the Stations of the Cross at 12:00 noon at St. Linus Church.

Confessions: Our priests are available every Saturday afternoon at St. Patrick from 3:00-3:45 p.m. During the Season of Lent, our priests are available after our daily 8:00 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick Church (except if a Funeral Mass is scheduled) to hear confessions. Personal appointments for confession can always be made by contacting a priest directly through the NCC office (508-653-1093).

NCC Pro Life Committee Nursing Home Drive: Please help us in supporting our elderly community living in nursing homes. We will be collecting donations the weekends of March 07/08 and 15/16. Let’s come together to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. Donations can be brought to the church and placed in specially marked bins.
