Faith Formation Program Overview

The Natick Catholic Community Parishes of St. Linus and St. Patrick support parents as the primary educators of their children and take seriously the obligation to assist them in the faith formation of their young children and teens. Our overarching goal is summed up very simply: to teach as Jesus taught. Jesus is at the heart of all religious education.

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we strive to:

• bring every student closer to Jesus;

• guide our students in the formation of values and a moral code in harmony with our Catholic Christian heritage;

• pass along the rich tradition of the Catholic faith.
  
  
  

• We offer faith-filled & engaging elementary (Grades 1-5), Confirmation prep (Grade 6 students and parents), and Confirmation (Grades 7-10) programs for children, teens, and families.  Each program includes vibrant classroom experiences, wide-ranging service outreach opportunities, and meaningful family enrichment events that foster growing as disciples of Jesus.

Our children in Grades 1-5 utilize Sadlier's Christ In Us Program and meet at St. Linus with the following hourly class options:

    Sundays 10:00-11:00 a.m.
    Mondays 4:30-5:30 p.m.

A Special Word about NCC’s Sacramental Preparation Programs...

• NCC’s First Eucharist and Confirmation preparation are two-year programs. Therefore, students wishing to receive First Eucharist in Grade 2 must first complete the Grade 1 year of religious education.
  
  Likewise, students wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation should complete Confirmation 1 & 2. If a teen attends a Catholic school, the first year of Confirmation preparation is not required. However, all students wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation (including Catholic school students) are expected to participate in our Confirmation 2 program.                    ***IMPORTANT SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION 
•                               AGE CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT***

  The Archdiocese of Boston has lowered the age for the Sacrament of Confirmation from 10th grade to 8th grade to help strengthen 8th graders to handle the demands and challenges of adolescence by making the grace of this Sacrament available to them.
   
  Over the next three years, NCC will implement the new age change as part of our two-year Confirmation program (Confirmation 1 & 2). Please refer to NCC’sthe transition timeline below and register your child for the appropriate Confirmation preparation session.
